COMMUNITY COMPOSTING

What We Offer

  • Waste Analysis

    We start by understanding your site: how much food and garden waste is produced or received, where it comes from and intervals in which it is received

  • Site-Specific Design

    Every space is different. We design a layout around your available space and intended use, combining Aerobins, bay composters, Bokashi and more into one system that fits.

  • Installation

    Our team delivers and sets up everything on site, from assembling the composters to placing them for easy access, drainage and sun, so your system is ready from day one.

  • Training

    We train your staff, learners or residents on what goes in and how to look after the system, with ongoing support from Earth Again whenever you need it.

Our Services

Set Up A Meeting

Community Composting sites are unique to each area’s resources, landscape and intended uses.

Sites are uniquely crafted by Earth Again, using a select group of systems that allow efficient waste management in that specific area

Integrated Systems

Multiple systems that are uniquely combined for the specific needs of each community, school, estate and green spaces.

Systems

Aerobin

The Aerobin is our core composting system. This system is dedicated to processing food waste efficiently, without odours and with ease.

All the systems feed into the Aerobin, producing high quality compost and liquid fertiliser.

Systems

Bay Composter

The garden waste composting system, that serves multiple functions;

  1. The bay system naturally generates and stores carbon-rich material, which becomes the source of carbon for composting food waste in the Aerobin
  2. Using the pre-composted garden waste in the Aerobin, inoculates your Aerobin with beneficial microorganisms

Primarily storing carbon for the Aerobin, whilst also creating a mulch for your green space.

Bokashi

The bokashi system makes it possible to compost meats, dairies and cooked foods by;

  1. Fermenting food waste in a sealed, airtight bucket using bran inoculated with beneficial microbes (bokashi).
  2. The fermented food waste is then fed into the Aerobin with carbon from the bay, where it breaks down quickly without attracting pests or causing odours.

Its main job is to widen the range of food waste the community can compost, while also giving the Aerobin a fast-breaking, nutrient-rich feedstock.

Why Community Composting

  • Building Community

    A shared composter gives neighbours, staff or learners an everyday way to take climate action together, and creates chances to learn, run workshops and take pride in a cleaner area.

  • Greening Spaces

    Kitchen and garden scraps become rich compost for community gardens, parks, schools and verges, so the nutrients stay in the neighbourhood instead of being trucked away.

  • Responsible Waste Management

    Composting food waste locally keeps it out of landfill, where it would release methane. Aerobin's sealed, self-aerating design makes it clean, odour-free and pest-resistant, which suits shared spaces.
